Action Research Plan

Chris,
ReplyDeleteThis looks good to me. I like how you included an exit/entrance meeting with each six weeks. You'll be doing small research projects each six weeks and then compiling them all at the end of the year. I bet you'll get a good picture of the effectiveness of this program and be able to make some good recommendations at the end of the year.
Great job Chris. I think your action plan is well thought out. My only suggestion would be to wait after the first six weeks to select your students for the SST. I think it would be wise to give the students some time to get accustomed to the school and it would give you a better idea of what students are in need of the student support team. Keep up the good work!
ReplyDeleteLooks like you may be utilizing peer pressure in a positive way with this project. I do this in my basketball program and it has worked for me. I believe that the kids on the SST could have a huge impact on the student population - provided you get the right kids on that SST. Have you given much thought to who will be allowed to be on the SST? To me, that is one of the keys to the success of this program. Good luck.
ReplyDeleteThis ARP looks good Chris. As someone else stated previously I like the exit and entrance meeting. The only thing that I see that you may want to elaborate more on a lil bit is in your goal in reference to the thinking room. What is the responsible thinking room?
ReplyDeleteThis plan looks like it could have a positive change on your school's discipline. It is well thought out and seems very comprehensive. It did leave me wondering a couple of things about the selection process. What will the criteria be for selection and how large will the sample size be?
ReplyDeleteIt is a positive and problem-solving approach vs. the negative labeling associated with ISS, etc. I would like to understand a little more as to the plan that these "mentor students" have in moving these challenge students to a place of productivity. You are thinking productively in you research idea and plan. Good luck and keep us posted and further ideas.
